Skiing, both downhill and cross country, are popular winter activities in Ruokolahti. The ski center Freeski is located in Salosaari overlooking lake Saimaa. There are six ski slopes, a sledding hill, a cafe, an equipment rental shop and two parking areas. So, something to do for downhill enthusiasts of all ages and levels.
In the summer, Freeski's slopes serve as Saimaa Bikepark, where you can do forest & downhill cycling and also rent bikes, canoes and kayaks. Other equipment for both summer and winter sports available too. The café is open year round.
